Info
Ovarian cancer has historically been called “the silent killer”, the deadliest of gynecologic tumors which accounts for more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system. In 2020, there were approximately 314,000 new cases of OC and 207,000 women deaths from this cancer worldwide. Currently, Obstetricians, Gynecologists and Oncologists are still faced with numerous challenges by ovarian cancer, one of which is “how to predict the risk of malignancy of ovarian tumor early in the preoperative period?” This question plays a vital role in determining the appropriate treatment method, pre-operative and intra-operative risk and contributing to early diagnosis of ovarian cancer…
Based on some patient characteristics (age, menstrual status), basic biomarkers (CA125, HE4) and ultrasound examination describing ovarian tumor characteristics, there have been many established combination models: RMI (1990), ROMA (2009), ADNEX (2014), Copenhagen (2015),... These models have been proven to have high accuracy, increased sensitivity and specificity in predicting ovarian cancer risk.
In order to simplify the calculation of the combined models and improve the applicability of these models in clinical practice, teaching and scientific research, the research team from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Center for Information Technology (CIT), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has individually developed the webapp OCRAT (Ovarian Cancer Risk Asssessment Tools), at https://ocrat.huemed-univ.edu.vn.
